New technology helps prevent esophageal cancer

People who experience chronic heartburn, often a symptom of acid reflux, are at increased risk for developing Barrett’s Esophagus – which, if left untreated, may eventually lead to cancer. Due to a recent scientific advance in detection, WATS3D, gastroenterologists can now better ensure that unhealthy cells can be found and then treated before they can progress to esophageal cancer.
